HOLYHEAD TO WHITEHAVEN

HOLYHEAD TO WHITEHAVEN

Not much going on it this video. We took a bashing in the Irish Sea ..with force 6 and 7 later in the night was a long night.. it was a beat the whole trip up. We also ripped a clew on the head sail... it’s understandable the high winds as we had deep lows everywhere as a storm was soon to follow. But we were safe and sound in Whitehaven by then.

MOTIVATION FROM THE SKIP - POSITIVE MIND !! POSITIVE LIFE

MOTIVATION FROM THE SKIP - POSITIVE MIND !! POSITIVE LIFE

No matter what demons go round in your head no matter how bad circumstances are in your life only you can change it. Trust me I’m doing it. I have seen people make excuses after excuses instead of making that choice “let’s leave a story and a mark in life” so many people resort to that dead end life back to things they do all the time in normal life. We as humans were not designed to live the life we all know today. People are afraid of the unknown and adventure, people are afraid to let go of the normal because they think what society has told them is right. “ wake up” your life is over fast and you “don’t always have time” do not believe that” as that’s the excuses. People think years ahead of themselves. Question::: will you still be alive in x amount of years are you 100% sure you will? Your life can change in the blink of an eye. For me I wish I would of started what I’m doing a long time ago. I was very inspired by a man I met on my last trip his name was Jean he had sailed around the world alone many years back on the very same 8mtr boat he has today. How did he inspire me. He left for America with no money his engine broke even before he got out of English Channel but he carried on and he sailed on. What it taught me you don’t need lots of money are any big fancy boat you just need balls it’s a man I will never forget because he gave me more drive than he knows. I see so many younger people fucking there own lives up, I see people drink like mad and after it all what have you achieved “nothing” only a hangover, what have you seen “nothing”. Wake up people, wake up friends. You have one short life leave your mark become a legend not a bell end. Everything in life I put all into it “no excuses” when I do something I have to keep pushing it’s how my head is wired it keeps me in a good place it keeps that buzz of life it keeps you pushing it keeps you living on the edge. It’s not for everyone it’s for those that life on the edge and love the though of “live everyday like it’s your last”..I will tell my whole story when I reach the 1k subscribers on my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXDL... .. you will be surprised what goes on In the skipper James mind. You will wonder how. But it will show you that anything is possible ... but it’s why I have to keep doing what I’m doing.................”not everything is visible to the eye”

BENEATH THE WAVES - DOLPHINS & OCEAN BEAUTY

 BENEATH THE WAVES - DOLPHINS

Will let the beauty of these dolphins do the talking.....

Dolphins are small-toothed cetaceans they have a distinct  curved mouths, which give them a permanent “smile.” There are 36 dolphin species, found in every ocean. Most dolphins are marine and live in the ocean or brackish waters along coastlines. Some Dolphins , such as he South Asian river dolphin and the Amazon river dolphin, or boto, that live in freshwater streams and rivers.

The largest dolphin, the orca, can grow to be over 30 feet long. The smallest, the Maui dolphin, is just five feet long.

Dolphins mainly feed on  fish and squid, which they track using echolocation, a built-in sonar that bounces sound waves off prey and reveals information like its location, size, and shape. An echolocating bottlenose dolphin can make up to a thousand clicking noises per second.

Behavior and reproduction

Living in pods that can number a dozen or more, dolphins are intensely social mammals that communicate with squeaks, whistles, and clicks. Whether dolphins have language, as humans do, is a topic that scientists have debated for decades.

As mammals, they have warm blood and nurse their young. Dolphins have more than one mate, and generally produce a single offspring that will stay with the mother for up to six years, depending on the species.

Dolphins are graceful, sleek swimmers that can reach speeds of more than 18 miles an hour. They are also playful and often frolic in a boat’s wake, leaping out of the water—possibly for fun, to communicate, or even shed pesky parasites.

Threats

For centuries, people have hunted dolphins for their meat and blubber. Today, their main threat comes from being caught accidentally in commercial fishing nets. Dolphins must rise regularly to the surface to breathe—becoming entangled in nets prevents this, leading to drowning. For maine dolphins, warming ocean temperatures because of climate change have caused some of their primary food sources to move into deeper, cooler water. Furthermore, marine heatwaves, also caused by climate change, appear to have a negative affect on dolphins' reproductive rates and ability to survive.

They are many threats to these creatures  hunting and entanglement in fishing gear, freshwater dolphins face the additional threat of dams fragmenting and degrading habitat.
