BALLYCASTLE TO COLERAINE

  BALLYCASTLE TO COLERAINE

Work time after our 1st sail in ages. Down through the bar mouth

Well you probably recognise this stretch of coast being close to my home port . In this video I am just taking my Sigma 33 , " Just Because " over to Coleraine in preparation for the 2018 season . We pass Rathlin sound , as choppy as ever with the Overfalls and the Bull Point Lighthouse around Whitepark Bay passed the world famous Giants Causseway Formation than then onward to the Barmouth - the Entrance to the Lower Bann River  . We can move all the way up the River to Coleraine. To the left of the Barmouth is Portstewart Strand and beyond that on the Right Hand Side heading to Coleraine is Castlerock. If you continue to follow the River Bann it will reach Lough Neagh at Toome Bridge the Upper Bann enters Lough Neagh some distance away having its source in the Mournes . I began my sailing interest on the Upper Bann and have spent many hours trekking in the Mourne Mountains
